Booking

How far in advance should I book?

As far as you can. Popular dates — Friday and Saturday nights, holiday weekends — go first, and the balance is charged seven days before the event, so booking inside a week means both payments land close together.

When is my card actually charged?

The deposit is charged once the host accepts. Before that it is authorised, not charged, so you may see a pending amount that disappears if the booking does not go ahead. See Payments & Deposits.

What if the host does not respond?

They have 24 hours. After that the request expires on its own and the authorisation is released. You are not charged. More on booking talent.

What is Instant Book?

Some hosts accept automatically instead of reviewing each request. Your booking is confirmed the moment you pay the deposit.

Can I change the date or time after booking?

Message the host through Vynue. A change both sides agree to is straightforward; if they cannot accommodate it, you are cancelling, and the cancellation policy applies.

Can I book a venue and talent together?

They are two separate bookings, each with its own deposit and cancellation policy. Cancelling one does not cancel the other. Book the venue first — a date is easier to fill with talent than the other way round.

Money

How much is the deposit?

25% for talent and 50% for venues by default, and a host may set anywhere between 10% and 50%. Whatever it is when you book is locked to your booking.

When is the rest charged?

Automatically, seven days before the event, to the same card. You do not need to do anything.

What does Vynue charge?

You pay exactly the host's listed rate — no fee is added at checkout. Vynue's platform fee is deducted from the host's payout after the event instead.

Do I tip?

Tipping is at your discretion and is not handled through the platform. Nothing on Vynue expects it, and no host is entitled to it.

How and when do hosts get paid?

Through Stripe, after the event. Immediately if both sides confirm the booking went well, otherwise 72 hours after it ends. Full detail.

Why has my payout not arrived?

The usual reasons, in order of likelihood: your payout account is not fully set up; the 72-hour window has not closed; a dispute is open; or you owe a balance from a previous cancellation, which is recovered from your next payout. Contact support if none of those fit.

Cancellations and problems

Can I get a refund?

It depends on the host's policy and how close you are to the event. Standard — the default — refunds in full at 30+ days, 75% at 7–30 days, 50% at 3–7 days, and nothing inside 72 hours. See Cancellation Policy.

The host cancelled on me. What now?

You are refunded everything you paid, regardless of their policy, and the host bears the card processing fee.

Something went wrong at the booking. What do I do?

Report a problem before the 72-hour window closes. That freezes the payment while it is reviewed. Once a payout has been released there is nothing left to freeze. See Disputes.

Are refunds the full amount?

Card processing fees are not returned by the payment network, so a client-initiated refund is your entitlement minus that fee. Refunds are reconciled against what you've actually paid — if your entitlement is less than a deposit you already paid, you may still owe the difference under the booking terms. See Cancellation Policy.

Accounts and listings

What does the verified badge mean?

A person reviewed the listing — photos, details and linked accounts — and approved it. It is not a criminal background check. See Verification.

How long does verification take?

It is a manual review, so it varies. Complete your profile fully and link a real working account, which is what stalls most applications.

Why can I not message anyone?

Partners and venue hosts must be approved before they can start conversations. This stops unverified accounts cold-messaging clients.

Can I have more than one role?

Yes. One account can be a client and a partner, or a partner and a venue host, and you switch between them. Each role has its own dashboard.

Can I list more than one venue?

Yes, under one account, each with its own calendar, rate and availability.

Safety

Can I pay the host directly and skip the fee?

No, and you should report anyone who suggests it. Off-platform payment voids every protection — no held funds, no refund, no dispute, no recourse. See Safety.

When do I get the venue address?

Once the booking is confirmed. Listings show only an approximate map pin before that.

How do I report someone?

Report the message directly from the conversation and pick a reason. If it concerns a booking that already happened, raise a dispute instead so the payment is frozen.
