Safety

How Vynue keeps bookings safe — verified accounts, on-platform messaging and payment, private venue addresses, reporting, and what to do before and during a booking.

Last updated

Vynue exists partly because arranging event services through direct messages and cash leaves nobody with any protection. Everything below is either something the platform does for you, or something you should do for yourself.

The one rule that matters most

Keep everything on Vynue. Messages, payments, changes to the booking.

The moment a conversation moves to a personal number or a payment moves to a cash app, every protection on this page stops applying. There is no record to review, no payment to freeze, no refund to issue, and no way for us to act on a report.

Asking to take the booking off-platform is the single most common precursor to being scammed on any marketplace — and on Vynue it is a reportable offence for either side.

What Vynue does

Every partner and venue is reviewed by a person before their listing goes live. A partner or venue host who has not been approved cannot start a conversation with anyone, so an unverified account cannot cold-message you. See Verification.

Money is held by the platform from the moment it is paid until after the booking is over. A host cannot take a deposit and disappear, because it has not been given to them yet. See Payments & Deposits.

Venue addresses stay private. Listings show an approximate map pin. The exact address is released only once a booking is confirmed, and only to the client and host.

Photos are screened automatically before they appear on a listing. Anything the check is unsure about goes to a person rather than being published.

Reports go to a real moderation queue. Any message can be reported, with a reason, from the conversation itself.

Reviews are blind. Neither side sees the other's review before writing their own, so nobody can retaliate — and nobody has to worry that honesty will be punished.

Before you book

  • Read the whole listing. Vague listings produce disappointed clients.
  • Ask specific questions through Vynue messaging. What is included, what is not, what they need on arrival. A specific answer on the record is worth more than a friendly one on the phone.
  • Check the reviews, not just the badge. Verification says the account is real. Reviews say what booking them is actually like.
  • Agree the details in writing — start time, duration, what is being provided. Most disputes are a disagreement about one of these three.

On the day

For clients

  • Confirm the arrival time through Vynue rather than a personal number.
  • If a partner arrives and something is materially different from what was booked, say so at the time and record it. A photo taken then is worth far more than a description written a week later.
  • Do not pay anything extra in cash. If the scope of the booking changes, it should change on the platform.

For partners and venue hosts

  • You are entitled to leave a booking that is unsafe or that materially differs from what was agreed. Report it — leaving is not the same as walking out on a booking, provided you say what happened.
  • Bring someone, or tell someone where you are. Vynue's protections cover the money and the record; they do not cover the room.
  • Agreeing a boundary in writing beforehand is easier than defending it in person.

Nothing on this page overrides your own judgement about your own safety. If a booking feels wrong, leave. Sort the money out afterwards — that is what the dispute process is for.

Reporting

Any message can be reported directly from the conversation. Choose the reason that fits:

  • Soliciting off-platform payment
  • Requesting to move off platform
  • Harassment
  • Scam or impersonation
  • Spam

Reports are reviewed by our team. Accounts can be suspended, and suspension removes access to bookings and messaging.

If something happened during a booking rather than in a message, raise a dispute — that freezes the payment while it is reviewed. For anything urgent or serious, contact support directly.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Vynue is not an emergency service and cannot respond in real time.

Warning signs

Treat any of these as a reason to stop and report:

  • A request to pay by bank transfer, cash app, gift card or cryptocurrency
  • Pressure to book immediately, or to book outside the platform "to avoid fees"
  • A profile whose photos appear elsewhere on the internet under another name
  • Someone who will not answer specific questions in writing
  • A booking that changes substantially after the deposit is paid
