What each status means
| Status | What is happening |
|---|---|
| Awaiting deposit | The request exists but has not been paid for |
| Awaiting host | Deposit authorised; the host has 24 hours to accept |
| Confirmed | Accepted and locked in. Venue addresses are released here |
| Balance due | The balance charge has been triggered, seven days out |
| Completed | The event happened; the payment window is running |
| Payout released | The host has been paid |
| Cancelled | Ended early by either party, with the policy applied |
| Expired | The host did not respond in 24 hours; nothing was charged |
| Disputed | A problem was reported; the payment is frozen pending review |
Common situations
- The host has not responded. They have 24 hours. After that the request expires on its own and your card is never charged.
- You need to change the date. Message the host. A change both sides agree to is easy; if they cannot accommodate it, you are cancelling — see Cancellation Policy.
- The event is over. Confirm it went well when prompted. Both sides confirming releases the host's payment immediately; otherwise it releases 48 hours after the booking ends.
- Something went wrong. Report a problem before that window closes. See Disputes.
