Booking a Venue

How to rent a private event venue on Vynue — deposits, capacity, minimum booking length, and when the exact address is released to you.

Renting a venue on Vynue works the same way as booking talent: pick a date, see the total, pay a deposit. Three things differ — the deposit is usually larger, capacity matters, and you do not get the exact address until the booking is confirmed.

Why the address is hidden

Venue listings show an approximate map pin, not a street address. The real address is released to you once your booking reaches confirmed status, and it is visible to you and the host only.

This is not an inconvenience to be worked around. Many spaces on Vynue are private homes, lofts and studios whose owners are not advertising their address to anyone browsing. If a listing does publish its exact address in the description, that is the host's choice, not the default.

Deposits are larger

Venues default to a 50% deposit, against 25% for talent. A held date has a higher opportunity cost for a venue — one booking usually rules out every other booking that day.

A host can set theirs anywhere between 10% and 50%. Whatever it is, it is locked to your booking at the moment you book and cannot be changed afterwards.

The balance is charged automatically seven days before the event, to the same card.

Capacity and minimums

Capacity is the number of guests the space is listed for. Book a space that fits your guest count — a venue host can cancel a booking that arrives substantially over capacity, and that is a conversation better had beforehand.
Minimum booking length is set per venue. A request below the minimum is rejected before payment.
Pricing may be hourly, daily, or a fixed package. The listing says which.

Check what is and is not included before you book — sound systems, furniture, parking, alcohol and cleaning vary enormously between spaces. Ask through Vynue messaging so the answer is on the record.

Booking a venue and talent together

They are two separate bookings, each with its own deposit, its own cancellation policy and its own host. Cancelling one does not cancel the other.

If your event depends on both, book the venue first. A date is easier to fill with talent than talent is to fill with a date.

Waiting for the host to accept

Most venue hosts review requests manually and have 24 hours to respond. If they decline or do not answer, the authorisation on your card is released and you are not charged. Hosts with Instant Book turned on confirm immediately.

After the event

Both sides get a one-tap confirmation prompt once the booking's scheduled end time has passed. If both confirm it went well, the host is paid straight away; otherwise the payment releases automatically 72 hours after the booking ends.
