What happens if I cancel as a Partner?
What happens on your account when you cancel a confirmed booking as a talent partner or venue — the warning ladder, Instant Book suspension, and the emergency exception.
Last updated
Accepting a booking is a commitment. The client blocked their date and paid based on you being there — cancelling on them has real consequences, both for the client (which Vynue covers) and for your account.
What the client gets, regardless
If you cancel a confirmed booking, the client is refunded 100% of everything they paid, and Vynue may offer them a suggested replacement. None of this depends on why you cancelled — see Cancellation Policy for the client side.
What happens to your account
Vynue tracks cancellations against your account over a rolling 12-month window and applies consequences that escalate with timing, frequency, and severity. This is not a fixed "one warning and you're fine" rule — a last-minute cancellation, or a pattern of them, can jump straight to a more serious consequence even on what looks like a first offence:
| Roughly | What tends to happen |
|---|---|
| First cancellation, given reasonable notice | A warning, recorded on your account |
| A second or third, or one with little notice | Loss of Instant Book eligibility and/or reduced search visibility, typically for 30 days |
| Repeated or serious cancellations | Temporary suspension or removal from the platform |
Vynue exercises judgment here rather than applying a mechanical count — the table above is what usually happens, not a guarantee of exactly what will happen in your case.
Cancelling a confirmed booking is one of the fastest ways to damage your standing on Vynue. If you're not sure about a date, block it on your calendar rather than accept and cancel later.
The emergency exception
If you're cancelling because of a genuine emergency — sudden illness, a death in the family, severe weather, an accident, a venue closure outside your control, and similar situations — flag it as an emergency when you cancel and give a brief note. Vynue reviews emergency claims case by case and may reduce or waive the account consequences above if it's substantiated.
Two things this does not do:
- It doesn't automatically exempt you just because you checked a box — it's reviewed, not self-certified.
- It never reduces or delays the client's refund. The client gets their money back regardless of why you cancelled, or whether your emergency claim is later approved.
